XML (Extended Markup Language) is a format for sending electronic information. There are many different XML standards. In the world of electronic invoicing (or e-invoicing), XML is used to send an invoice from a supplier to a customer. The problem is that there are different standards of XML invoices and not all systems understand all standards.
