ReadSoft environmental policy:
Statement of intent

At ReadSoft, we strive to be environmentally aware in our daily work and in the tools and processes we use.

To achieve this, we will

  • Reduce our consumption of resources.
  • Manage waste generated from our business operations according to the principles of reduction, reuse and recycling.
  • Manage our business operations to prevent pollution.
  • Give due consideration to environmental issues in the design and location of buildings.

  • Comply with all relevant environmental legislation as well as other environmental requirements to which the group subscribes.
  • Strive to continuously improve our environmental performance and integrate recognized applicable best practice into our business operations.

We have defined three main areas where we focus our environmental efforts:

1. Business travel
ReadSoft is an international company and business travel by air is our constant bad conscience from an environmental point-of-view. We travel a lot because we think it is important to meet with clients, partners and colleagues to create good relations and maintain good service.

Having said this, we should always consider the option to meet via web conferences or teleconferences before travelling. If travelling is necessary environmentally friendly alternatives should be considered.

It is the responsibility of the individual to decide whether a business trip is necessary or not, but ReadSoft encourages employees to consider environmentally friendly ways of transportation (such as train, carpooling etc.) for each business trip.

2. Minimize paper usage
ReadSoft’s products are environmentally friendly since they reduce paper consumption and decrease the need to transport documents. Our calculations estimate that ReadSoft customers spare the world 1.4 billion.

ReadSoft should work to continually inform clients, partners, investors, and other interested parties of our products’ environmental impact.

We should use our own products to minimize paper consumption throughout the group.

ReadSoft should try to keep as much information as possible in digital format. Employees should always consider whether it is possible to send or store information digitally instead of on paper.

3. Daily work
ReadSoft encourages employees to save as much energy as possible in their daily work by, for example, shutting down computers and screens after work, recycling, reducing printing, etc.

We should also consider environmental aspects in the procurement process, and when choosing cooperation partners.

ReadSoft should, on a regular basis, communicate the importance of environmental issues to the people within the company.

The direct responsibility for environmental issues is placed locally with each unit as is the responsibility to set, monitor and communicate key objectives and targets of our environmental performance.
